China's Jigang Group announced that the company has finished its test run of its production line which produces X100-X120 steel plates for line-pipe making. Its new steel plate is able to meet the requirement of high tensile piping steel plate X120.

There are only a few producers in the world which can make X120 piping steel plates, including Nippon Steel, Sumitomo, China’s Baosteel, Tisco, and few European pipe mills.

Line-pipe usage steel plate will be used in natural gas or oil's transportation. China required large quantities of high tensile steel pipe since most gas fields in China are located in severe weather areas.
