Since the US started to impose tariff on imported steel and aluminum products, several countries have been given the tariff exemption from the US.

Among these countries, both Argentina and Mexico kept a trade deficit with the US. Data showed that the exportation from the US to Mexico was 4.1 million tons, while the exportation from Mexico to the US was 3 million tons. And so was Argentina, who achieved the exemption in early May.

Argentina has even been given a larger export quota by the US on steel products because of its little exportation to the US. In addition, among all the countries, there was also Brazil, who kept a trade surplus with the US, which was one of the main slab suppliers for the US.
