Roy Hill & Atlas Iron merger to form Hancock Iron Ore

Roy Hill and Atlas Iron will merge into a single entity named Hancock Iron Ore, combining their operational expertise and market strengths.

Roy Hill currently exports approximately 64 million tons of iron ore annually, primarily to Asian markets. Atlas Iron, acquired by Hancock Prospecting in 2018, contributes about 10 million tons per year to the merged operation.

Together, the companies have generated over A$11.5 billion in royalties and taxes to governments while supporting numerous businesses through supply contracts. 

The name change will take effect on July 1.
