North Star BlueScope Steel has chosen Danieli, the original equipment manufacturer, to modernize its Quality Strip Production (QSP) facility in Delta, Ohio. The upgrades include a new run-out table laminar cooling system and the installation of a third down coiler, supplementing the two original units from 1995.

These projects will raise the mill's efficiency and production capacity. Danieli will supply mechanical equipment and provide technical services for installation and commissioning. The new cooling system and down coiler will broaden the QSP facility's product range and increase its capability.

The installation of the cooling system will be carried out in two phases, and the down coiler installation will be primarily during plant operation. Completion is expected for the end of the first quarter of 2027, utilizing three scheduled outages, with minimal disruption to operations.
