Algeria’s Sonarem & Malaysia’s Lion Group sign MoU to boost mining & steel cooperation

Algeria’s Sonarem Group and Malaysia’s Lion Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in mining exploration and exploitation, as well as in the steel industry, according to a statement from Algeria’s Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energy.

The MoU outlines joint efforts in mineral exploration, particularly for gold, copper, and manganese, as well as in investment promotion, expertise sharing, and worker training. It also includes the development of future mining sites and resource processing, with both parties agreeing to define priority projects and the legal, technical, and financial frameworks for cooperation.
