Arcelor Mittal Poland intends to expand its capacity of a cold rolling mill at Cracow works by first quarter of 2009. After that, the capacity of this works will rise to 1.4 million tpy from existing 800,000 tpy.

In the meantime, a pickling line of 1.4 million tpy will be established at the former Huta Sendzimira works. The existing temper mill needs to be repaired and the unit shall be equipped with a new hydrogen annealing line instead of previous hydrogen and nitrogen.

ArcelorMittal Poland is also likely to invest in another cold rolling mill in Poland.

ArcelorMittal has reached an agreement with the Polish Government to acquire the outstanding 25.2 percent shares of ArcelorMittal Poland.
