Aurubis is the largest copper producer in Europe. Aurubis' CEO Toralf Haag said that they look forward to increasing its business to the US under the circumstances there are no import tariffs on the metal. Although copper was not part of the reciprocal tariffs announced by the US in April, President Donald Trump had initiated an investigation into copper imports back in February. The company said its findings will be released by November.

Haag mentioned that the company's current sales to the US were limited and the only business in the US is the smelter in Richmond County in Georgia. Aurubis would increase its copper recycling smelter business in the US this year, and it might further invest in the US in the following years.
