Saranac, Michigan-based Pure Aluminum planned to start its business in 2025, providing conversion and tolling services for all types of aluminum scrap including dross.

Mark Clark, the company's owner, said its first phase will include an 88,000-pound rotary furnace and a 180,000-pound reverb furnace, with a total monthly production capacity of 20 million pounds. The second phase will include another 180,000-pound reverb, adding an additional 10 million pounds of capacity per month.

Saranac is an ideal location to provide aluminum alloys to consumers throughout the Midwest and Canada, said Mark Clark.

Mark Clark is also the president and owner of Franklin Metals Corp., a Lake Odessa, Michigan-based scrap processor and aluminum alloy producer. He said that as companies work to increase their recycled content and carbon footprint cut initiatives, acquisitions, and partnerships have been rising.

The company has made significant investments in recent years to upgrade certain scrap facilities which were mainly exported over the past few years.
