According to statistics, Taiwan imported around 39,800 tons of 300 series hot-rolled stainless steel products in March, dropping by 11.4% compared to the previous month, which has fallen for two months in a row.

However, the monthly import price averaged more than NT$77,200/ton, 9% higher than the price in February.

In the first quarter of this year, Taiwan’s 300 series hot-rolled stainless steel products imports amounted to approximately 130,200 tons, a year-on-year decline of 31%. In contrast, the average import price was up by 38.8% year on year.

In 2021, the imports of these products reached roughly 645,000 tons, slightly up by 231 tons year on year; the average import price hiked sharply by 50.8% year on year, which was the fourth year with increased import volume and prices.
