US’ steel plate imports up in Dec 2019 m-o-m

According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported a total of around 41,000 tons of steel plate in December 2019, up by 2.6% compared to the previous month while dropping by 14.1% from the same month in 2018.

Among them, the imports from Germany accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 13,500 tons, compared to 11,100 tons in November and 16,400 tons in December 2018; those from Canada were around 11,100 tons; those from the Netherlands were around 7,800 tons; those from South Korea were approximately 4,900 tons; those from China were roughly 1,600 tons.
