According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending July 5, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.781 million net tons, increasing by 0.3% from the same period a week ago and by 4.9% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.6%, falling by 0.5 percentage points week on week and rising by 2.1 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending July 5, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 45.199 million short tons, slightly rising by 0.5% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, a year-on-year drop of 0.2 percentage points.
