According to new data released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), in January-July this year, global copper supply shortage of 151,000 tons, the supply shortage gap was about 197,000 tons.

During the first months of this year, global copper demand was 13.72 million tons, 12.94 million tons for the same period a year earlier. During the first seven months this year, China's steel apparent demand was 6.736 million tons, up to 521,000 tons year on year; the 28 EU countries production declined by 2% year on year, the steel demand was for 2.082 million tons, an increase of 4.5% year on year.
