Vulcan Green Steel, a leading industrial powerhouse and part of the Jindal Steel Group, will install a new hydrogen-ready direct reduction plant in Duqm, in the Al Wusta region of the Sultanate of Oman. The hydrogen plant will feed a new local electric steelmaking complex.

The new plant will adopt the technology Energiron, which was jointly developed by Tenova and Danieli. Energiron technology is able to capture the CO2 from the process and utilize it for other applications, which can further reduce the overall plant carbon emissions and provide additional revenue for the plant.
