The US International Trade Commission (USITC) announced the launch of the preliminary investigations of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) on imports of steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Algeria, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam. The purpose of these investigations is to assess whether there is sufficient evidence that the US industry is experiencing or is at risk of significant harm, or that the development of a US industry is being significantly hindered by imports of these products from the four nations.

The products involved are under HTSUS subheadings 7213.10.0000, 7214.20.0000, and 7228.30.8010.

Unless the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) extends the initiation time, the USITC must make a preliminary determination for the AD and CVD probes within 45 days, specifically by July 21, 2025.
