US’ hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel exports totaled around 119,000 tons in March, hiking by 5% from the previous month but falling by 7% from the same month a year ago, according to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC).

Mexico remained the top export destination with procurement of roughly 66,500 tons, up by 1.6% month on month and down by 5.9% year on year. Canada ranked second with 52,300 tons, and exports to other destinations were relatively low.

The value of these imports was US$170 million, a month-on-month rise of 3.7% and a year-on-year fall of 3.6%.
