According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled around 984,800 tons in the first eight months of this year, rising by 20.1% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value reached around US$687.4 million, a year-on-year hike of 86.8%.

Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (around 181,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%), the Netherlands (around 146,700 tons, a year-on-year surge of 144.5%), and Brazil (around 130,900 tons, merely 54 tons in January-August 2020).

In August alone, Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled roughly 229,600 tons, a month-on-month hike of 54.2% and a year-on-year increase of 94%. The export value was roughly US$181 million, up by 59% month on month and soaring by 238% year on year.
