Tata Steel's Shotton Works has announced that it would invest £3 million to upgrade its two painted lines at its plant in Deeside, North Wales.

The plant's two Colorcoat® paint lines are being upgraded to improve quality and reduce paint usage by 650,000 liters per year.

The investment has been one of the largest at the plant in recent years.

The commissioning of the new finish coater heads on the Colorcoat® No.1 line has been completed, and the work on the Colorcoat® No.2 was scheduled to be completed in June this year.
