It is reported that Tata Steel intended to sell part of their business in Southeast Asia, furthermore will focus more on their domestic market.

Since the scrap costs remained higher as well as construction activity diminished, they resulted in fewer demand that put both Singaporean NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd. and Tata Steel Thailand in the mud.

Tata Steel acquired NatSteel in 2004, then acquired Thailand-based steelmaker Millennium Steel in order to expand their business in Southeast Asian. However, Tata Steel refused to response to this issue.

According to the latest annual report, Tata Steel hoped for being the top steelmaker in India and Europe.
