Tata Steel announced to increase price by INR1,500/ton (US$33.8/ton) due to rising demand on Sunday. The rate was at 3%.

Industry sources indicated that this 3% increase announcement might bring up the cost for various products.

Accordingly, some steel mills in India increased the prices as well. SAIL has increased price by INR1000/ton (US$22.53/ton), JSW steel and Essar Steel raised the price by INR1,500/ton (US$33.8/ton).
