After Feng Hsin, Quintain Steel, Yieh Hsing kept the prices flat for August, Taiwanese wire rod transaction prices remained stable in the market. In addition, Taiwanese China Steel Corp. (CSC) didn't announce the price this month and would announce new price for fourth quarter next month.

Therefore, all mills decided to keep their prices in order to stabilize the deal price in the market. They would adjust if there was any rise for raw material in the near future. It was understood that CSC's Al-killed wire rod deal price stood stable in the range of NT$22,400~22,600/ton, and electric furnace Al-killed wire rod deal price was in the range of NT$21,700~21,900/ton.

Due to the tax from the US and the EU, Taiwanese fastener industry performance was not good recently. It needed more time to observe the demand in September after the US and the EU customers back from summer vacation. If fastener industry received order smoothly in September, the export performance would improve in the fourth quarter.

Besides, the New Taiwan dollar kept depreciating and it was good for screw industry export. Therefore, the wire rod deal price would stand firmly and stably in the short period of time.
