It’s reported that Taiwan’s Dragon Steel is collecting the evidence to accuse cheap H beam imports from Japan and South Korea.

Dragon Steel said that the low-priced imports of H beam from South Korea and Japan into the Taiwanese market have hurt the local industry.

According to statistics, Taiwan’s imports of H beam from Japan and South Korea totaled 55,612 tons in the first 11 months of this year, surging from 35,492 tons in the same period of a year ago.

The latest quotes of H beams from Japan and South Korea are at around US$750/ton CFR.

However, the H beam prices in Japanese and South Korean domestic market are at around US$830/ton and US$930/ton respectively, reflecting the two counties dumped the low-priced H beam into Taiwanese market, Dragon Steel said.

At present, Dragon Steel is collecting the relative documentations and it will submit the application to the Taiwanese Ministry of Finance.
