Spanish steel company Celsa Group has launched procedures to allow a Spanish investor to hold 20% of its shares. This move aligned with shareholder commitments to the Spanish government, following the launch of an operational efficiency plan, financing of necessary investments through an approved capital increase, and divestments in subsidiaries in the UK and Nordic countries.

Celsa emphasized that all proceeds will be used to reduce debt, further promote industrial and financial restructuring, focus on local business and reduce leverage.

The company also recently increased its capital by EUR 166 million to improve its Spanish operations and future international investments and implement an ambitious efficiency plan.
