Primetals Technologies has secured an order from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) to install a new hot-blast stove for blast furnace No. 5, named "Kalyani," at the IISCO steel plant in Burnpur, Asansol city, West Bengal, India. This addition will allow IISCO to maintain operational efficiency by providing flexibility for stove repairs without disrupting production. Scheduled for completion within 17 months from contract signing, the project will equip the plant with four stoves, enhancing its operational capabilities.

The new stove incorporates advanced features such as a "mushroom dome" for increased refractory stability and a vertical ceramic burner to optimize combustion efficiency. Primetals Technologies will handle the design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction of the stove shell, including the supply of high-grade refractories, expansion joints, hydraulic systems, valves, and extensions to the hot-blast mains.

SAIL, known as one of India's largest steel producers, operates five integrated plants and three special steel plants strategically located near domestic raw material sources in eastern and central India.
