According to report, the Moroccan ministry of commerce has announced that it has set antidumping (AD) duties up to 29% on imports of hot rolled coils (HRC) from some suppliers in Europe. However, imports from Turkey are spared for such duties.

The Moroccan authority has made the decision after 10 months of investigation as the imports has hurt the local steel industry m especially the sole HRC producer Maghreb Steel.

Official probe against the imports of EU and Turkish imports started in January 2013.

It imposed 29.12% anti-dumping duty on imports from ArcelorMittal’s HRC from Europe and 22.11% to Tata Steel Europe.

Turkish producer Erdemir and Colakoglu will be granted with 0% of import duty. However, 29.12% of duty will be imposed to other Turkish exports.
