The Carmen Copper Mine, owned by Philippines-based Atlas Mining, collapsed with a landslide on December 21 due to a typhoon, which caused one death and at least three missing. It is still unknown whether mining operations were affected.

Carmen Copper Corp. (CCC), the operator of the Carmen Copper Mine, totally produced around 37,000 tons of copper, equivalent to 150,000 tons of copper concentrates. CCC's copper concentrates are mainly exported to China, India, and Japan.
