South Korean Kia Motors Corp. will cut its production from original planned 1.25 millions vehicles to 1.10 millions vehicles.

The demand for automotive sheet at the company therefore has decreased by 200,000 tons to 1.10 million tons. The reasons Kia decided to scale down the production outputs are sluggish market, an increase purchasing from China, and the strike.

Moreover, due to higher domestic demand, Posco reduced the exports of cold rolled steel to Japan by 40 percent to 40,000 tons during the months of July to September.

From 9 October, one of the cold rolling plants will be halted for 45 days maintenance, and it might lose production by 380,000 tons.
