Japan's Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. said on Monday that it had decided to stop a long-term feasibility study on a nickel processing plant project in Pomalaa, Indonesia, and withdraw from this project due to disagreements with its partner PT Vale Indonesia.

A spokesman of Sumitomo said PT Vale had begun to find another partner to move forward with the project. Both companies had some different opinions regarding construction scheduling and costs.
