According to Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) planned to produce 21.5 million tons of crude steel from October 2017 to March 2018.

It was expected that NSSMC’s steel shipments would reach 20.3 million tons till March 2018, up slightly compared with the same period of last year.

However, Japanese steel mills intended to shift resources to the domestic market rather than export markets, because of the domestic competition was better than export markets.
