Japan’s molybdenum stainless steel output has increased again as demand is rising. This is the fifth consecutive month that production has increased. Demand from the automotive, energy infrastructure and heating equipment sectors has been on the rise since the start of this year. Molybdenum stainless steel output from January to May this year increased by 7.75 percent to 98, 529 tons. According to some market insiders, demand could weaken as the nickel price continues rising and it is having an impact on stainless steel prices. (July 21)
