According to the statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), the production of Japanese specialty steel amounted to around 2.3 million tons this March, up by 2% year on year and up by 9.7% month on month.

From April 2017 to March 2018, the total production of Japanese specialty steel was around 25.4 million tons, slightly increasing by 4.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
