According to the report, Indian National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC Limited) planned to hike its iron ore capacity as well as to build up a brand new integrated steel mill.

NMDC Limited was a state-controlled mineral industry in India, with 72.43% possessed by the government, and administrated by the Ministry of Steel.

The new mill was expected to begin production between October 2019 and March 2020, with 2.7 million tons capacity of hot-rolled plates, coils, API grade steel and auto grade steel.

NMDC targeted to increase not only its capacity, also value addition and global position. By the fiscal 2022, its annual mining capacity was scheduled to grow from 43 million tons to 67 million tons.
