According to the statistics of the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), the global stainless steel production in 2017 was around 48 million tons, an increase of 5.8% over the previous year.

China's stainless steel production was around 26 million tons, an increase of 4.7% over the previous year; other Asian countries' production was around 8 million tons, an increase of 4.5%.

The US stainless steel production was around 2.8 million tons, an increase of 11%. European production was around 7.4 million tons, an increase of 1.3%.

The production of other countries, including Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Indonesia were around 4.2 million tons, an increase of 22%.
