South Korea proposes 5-year AD duties on China’s stainless steel plates

On August 12, 2025, South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance issued a notice proposing to impose anti-dumping (AD) duties on stainless steel plates from China for five years.

The proposed AD duties are set at a rate of 21.62% for Chinese producers and exporters. The subject products are stainless steel plates falling under HS codes 7219.21.1010, 7219.21.1090, 7219.21.9000, 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000, excluding hot-rolled coil, black plate products produced by hot-rolling stainless steel slabs, products with a thickness of 8 mm or less and a width of less than 2,000 mm under HS codes 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000, and stainless steel products meeting ASTM 904L.

Interested parties are invited to submit their comments by August 26, 2025, before the final decision is made.

South Korea had previously imposed a temporary AD measure on these products, which was extended until September 4, 2025.
