According to PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP), a fire accident occurred on Tuesday (June 15) at a nickel smelter on Halmahera Island in Indonesia. Six workers injured and are currently in intensive care.

The company will start to investigate the cause of the fire accident and repair in the next few days, said an IWIP representative.

The fire accident only affected one of the 23 nickel smelting lines at the Weda Bay plant, and the other production lines operate normally.
