As ArcelorMittal announced to restart its 6 of 16 plants that were closed in late 2008, UK based Corus decided to resume its plant in Llanwern within 1 month, reported by Sky News.

In early January, Corus shut down its plant in Llanwern in line with dwindling demands, and accordingly about its 530 employees were laid off.

The company said that pick-up in demand was trigged by recovery in automobile and construction market.
