The chrome ore supply from South Africa has turned to tight recently due to the limited inventories at ports. Also, the chrome ore price has been increased because Cr ore is used in FeCr products popularly in South Africa, which is deficient in chrome ore supply at this moment.

According to some domestic suppliers in South Africa, the increasing price is owing to unsmooth exports. The South African government plans to enforce stricter control and to add export tax on Cr ore.

However, some traders do not keep optimistic attitude toward the future deliverability of South Africa as the problem with overseas supply has not been solved properly.
