Reportedly, China’s Xinyu Iron & Steel (Xinyu Steel) has made a hot test on its first new non grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel mill.

Meanwhile, the second silicon steel line is also under the construction and is scheduled to have hot test in the middle of 2011.

It’s estimated that the annual output of the first NGO silicon steel mill would be at 170 thousand tons; that of the second mills would be at 400 thousand tons.

Accordingly, the resources of hot band will be from the company’s 1,580mm hot strip which was commissioned in 2009 and the current output was 3 million tons per year.
