Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), a Chinese battery manufacturer and technology company, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zenith Steel Group Company Limited (Zenith Steel) on March 20 in Changzhou, Jiangsu, to collaborate on clean energy, green logistics, and resource recycling, aiming to achieve a zero-carbon steel industry.

Zenith Steel, a leading Chinese steelmaker, has invested nearly CNY 20 billion in a green manufacturing system, integrating wind, solar, and energy storage projects while innovating in carbon reduction. The partnership seeks to enhance industrial competitiveness with "zero-carbon steel."

On March 15, CATL collaborated with the Dongying government in Shandong to create a zero-carbon industrial park, develop industrial electrification, implement new products and technologies, and advance electrified transportation. The first phase includes a 40GWh green intelligent lithium battery manufacturing base in Kenli District, with future expansion planned.
