Brazil’s steelmaker, Gerdau, announced on February 7 that it had launched a new high-resistance rebar product called Gerdau GG 70, which is produced at Gerdau’s Divinópolis steel plant in the state of Minas Gerais.

Gerdau indicated the rebar is a part of the company's CA-50 grade, which has a minimum yield strength of 700MPa, 200MPa higher than current GG 50 rebar products, and it offers high performance, productivity, and sustainability benefits, mainly used in civil constructions, with a focus on infrastructure, commercial and industrial buildings.
