The severe shortage of automobile chips has led to substantial reductions in production by auto manufacturers, and the demand for automobile steel in Europe has been greatly dropped. Therefore, ArcelorMittal decided to suspend the two galvanized steel production lines of its French plant.

At present, the two production lines have successively arranged to stop production and carry out additional annual maintenance.

The market estimated that the lack of chips has caused local mills to react as mentioned arrangement, which might last until early next year.
