China's Anshan Iron & Steel planned to cut its production by idling 5 of its hot-dip galvanized and coating lines due to weak market condition.

The three HDG lines yield annual output of 1.2 million tons and the two colour lines have a total capacity of 300,000 tpy.

The halting will last for the rest of the year. Angang is currently operating only one of the 400,000 tpy capacity HDG lines.
