The government announced the cancellation of export duties on coking coal and the extension of the moratorium on export duties for anthracite and steam coal, a move aimed at providing relief to coal enterprises.

According to the resolution, export duties on coking coal will be lifted starting December 1, 2024. Additionally, the moratorium on duties for anthracite and steam coal will now extend until the end of 2024. Beginning January 1, 2025, export duties on anthracite, coking coal, and steam coal will be completely abolished.

Flexible export duties for anthracite, steam coal, and coking coal were initially introduced on October 1, 2023. However, duties on anthracite and steam coal were suspended between May 1 and November 30, 2024.

The changes have been formalized in an amendment to Government Resolution No. 1538, dated September 21, 2023, reinforcing the government's commitment to supporting the coal industry through these adjustments.
