Hesteel Group (HBIS) has started operating the world's first hydrogen-based metallurgy continuous casting production line at Zhangxuan Hi-Tech Technology, with an annual output of 1.5 million tons of high-end low-carbon steel plates for the automotive industry.

Hydrogen metallurgy is a technology that uses hydrogen to replace carbon as a reducing agent and fuel for iron ore, which reduces carbon emissions, turns to water emissions, and achieves green steel making.

HBIS promoted low-carbon transformation, completed the hydrogen metallurgy demonstration project in December 2022, and launched the hydrogen shaft furnace project, the first zero carbon emission arc furnace globally in March 2024. The company is committed to developing the global green steel market and building a low-carbon industrial chain.
