It is reported that aluminum demand in US and Canada was around 26 billion pounds and the imports accounted for almost 1/3 of it. From the announcement by the CEO of the Aluminum Association, the US was glad to see aluminum market being on the increase; however, they were very much concerned the overcapacity from China.

On the other hand, the US Department Commerce actively started the investigation on aluminum import from China at the end of November. This was taken a dramatic movement and influence on aluminum market.
