The World Trade Organization (WTO) Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) has agreed to set up several working groups to review the US’s import tariffs on steel products.

The WTO said that China, EU, Mexico, Canada, Norway, Russia and Turkey applied repeatedly to review US’s tariffs which actually to safeguard US steel and Aluminum industry.

After that, Switzerland and India also applied for reviewing US’s tariffs. In addition, the agency has established a working group to review the retaliation measures of Canada, Mexico, EU and China against US’s products.

The US did not invoke WTO safeguards provisions, the other member states could not take action and believe that they could cite to apply the safeguard rules
