More than 30 US trade associations jointly sent a letter to ask President Biden to end the 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum products and quotas on trade allies as the tariffs are bringing benefits to the steel and aluminum industry while is greatly increasing costs for the US economy.

The letter also indicated that the abolition of 232 tariffs will help repair trade relations with allies and may cancel retaliatory tariffs.

Besides, these trade associations also expressed their joy for the recent news from the White House that the US will work together with the EU to solve the overcapacity problem of global steel and aluminum and seek trade solutions.
