According to the reports, the US primary steel mills such as Nucor Corporation and Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced their new plants investments one after another with total value about US$9.7 billion.

The US president’s tariffs policy brought confidence to its domestic steel industries and it was scheduled to increase the steel capacity in the US in the near future.

It was also expected to attract more auto industry investments. Nucor Corporation, the largest steel producer in the US and North America's largest recycler of any material, had a plan of US$1.35 billion to build a steel mill in the Midwest.

Besides, Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced to invest about US$1.8 billion to set up a mill, as well as ArcelorMittal’s US$3.1 billion project on US factories and United States Steel Corporation’s new plant investments of US$2.5 billion.

John Ferriola, Nucor CEO, said that policy changes from government such as tax reform had enforced confidence to industries to make long-term investments in the US and it was believed to bring success in decades.
