The U.K. exported 6.103 million tons of scrap in the first 11 months of 2008, increased by 13.2 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Spain ranked the first largest export destination at 1.384 million tons, down by year-on-year 5.3 percent; Turkey ranked the second at 1.063 million tons, decreased by 20 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The export volume for the whole year of 2009 is predicted to reach 6.66 million tons.
