According to Turkey Iron and Steel Producers Association released data in June of this year, Turkey’s steel imports totaled 1.84 million tons, an increase of 10.8% year on year. The imports amounted to US$1.12 billion, an increase of 3.1% year on year.

Turkey’s semi-finished steel imports totaled 772,000 tons, an increase of 10.1% year on year; those for steel plate imports increased by 12.9% year on year to 790,000 tons.

In the first half of this year, Turkey’s steel imports increased 8.8% year on year, to 9.82 million tons; Turkey’s semi-finished steel imports reduced 0.7% year on year, to 3.61 million tons.
