According to the Turkey statistics data in June, Turkey imported 832,425 tons of iron ore, fell to 14% month on month, down 14.6% year on year. The Import value fell 4.42% to US$61.1 million, down 16.5% year on year.

In the first half of 2016, Turkey’s iron ore imports rose by 8.1% year on year to 5.33 million tons of iron ore, while import revenue fell 22.6% year on year, to US$3.19 billion.

Brazil is still Turkey's largest iron ore supplier, in first half of 2016, Turkey imported 2.63 million tons of iron ore from Brazil, an increase of 19.6% year on year; imported 1.03 million tons from Russia, an increase of 54.7% year on year; imported 990,000 tons from Sweden, down 16% year on year; imported 657,000 tons from Ukraine, down 35.7% year on year.
